Zwolle is an old fortified and Hanseatic town with a rich history. Its town centre has a great atmosphere and an excellent shopping area. The hinterland, such as the region Kop van Overijssel and the banks of the river IJssel, offers ample beautiful examples of unspoilt nature.

In the area around Zwolle you will find interesting towns, such as Kampen, Giethoorn (Little Venice), Elburg and lovely Hattem with its Anton Pieck Museum. The Thomas à Kempis route and the one in Westerveld take you through areas of natural beauty and lead you along the most picturesque towns and villages of the province of Overijssel.
